Synopsis
Persona 4 The Golden Animation is a Japanese anime series based on the popular role-playing video game Persona 4. It is an alternate retelling of the original games story, and follows protagonist Yu Narukami as he moves to a rural town and uncovers a mysterious series of murders occurring in the area. With the help of his friends, Yu discovers the truth behind the supernatural events that are occurring and must use his newfound powers to save those in danger. The English dub of this series was produced by Sentai Filmworks and released on Blu-ray in 2015.
Storyline
The story begins with Yu Narukami moving to Inaba, a small rural town near Tokyo, to live with his uncle and cousin for a year before he attends college. Soon after his arrival, strange events begin happening in town, including mysterious murders that occur during foggy weather. After meeting his new friends at school, it is revealed that these events are related to a supernatural phenomenon known as the Midnight Channel which appears on televisions during foggy days.
Together with his new friends, Yu discovers that those who are connected to these mysterious events possess powers known as Personas which they can use to fight against shadows which have taken control of peoples desires from within their subconscious minds. As Yu and his friends explore further into the Midnight Channel, they uncover more dark secrets about Inaba and must eventually confront an even greater threat that threatens not only their lives but also the lives of everyone in town.
